This is a remarkable mixer--the knobs are large and ergonomic, with just the right amount of resistance, the layout is very intuitive. I used it for line-ins on instruments, but it'd be perfect for any and all sorts of djs or live performers.

I initally bought this with the intent of using it to jam at home and potentially play out, running a sampler into one channel, multi-timbral synth with separate stereo outs into two other channels, and keys through effects pedal into the last channel. It worked beautifully but that's apparently not my preferred mode of playing/song-writing.

I also wanted an extra global effects box and this thing is loaded--two effects slots allowed me to get around the delay/reverb issue I have with my main synth (Virus Indigo 2, which has global delay and reverb despite multimbrality).

Ecler EVO4 Overview

The Ecler EVO 4 Professional Digital DJ Mixer delivers a feature set that includes 24 Bit / 96kHz digital throughput, dual effects processors, USB and MIDI integration, full cut EQ and a password protected output limiter. Clearly the EVO 4 is intended for the professional DJ or nightclub installation. Its 4 input channels accommodate 3 phono (turntable) inputs, 4 line level inputs and an XLR microphone input.

The output section features balanced and unbalanced Master outputs, and a dedicated unbalanced Booth output. Dual effects processors feature up to 18 selectable effects, and the processors may be chained or assigned to individual channels. MIDI and USB connectors establish MIDI control over MIDI devices or software. Additional features include an effects loop I/O for connecting external signal processors, and 2 dedicated loop samplers with automatic beat detection.
