About This Listing

Exceptional 2015 Echopark La Carne Handcrafted Series
Made in CA

More than any other single guitar here, this guitar has that feeling of singularity at the utmost level. This guitar feels like a single piece of wood. This feeling is one of the defining characteristics of an Echopark guitar, and this Carne has it in spades. Tremendously good looking finish. Rich & deep. Guitar is not aged. Has a small ding on the face. The La Carne is my favorite Echopark shape and I know I'm not the only one. To me La Carne invokes quite a bit. It's a big, beautiful manly guitar.

Full size '59 D neck is to die for, gratifying neck shape. The type of thing that essentially on one else produces. Less fatiguing and more comfortable than a small neck, and also contributes greatly to the tone. This is what these slab guitars are all about. To me, Gabe's flagship model will always been the slab body with wraparound tailpiece. These are the ones that are the simplest but conduct and transmit such a wow factor.  This La Carne is a beast. Like The Crow we sold a few years ago, the notes are very large and round. The perfect compliment for a guitar exuding so much vibration is a high resolution low output pickup like these two Echopark Gold Coils. It's a superb match.

The more you learn about Gabe's construction techniques, old world theories, glues and materials - the more you appreciate what you're holding in your hands.  There's just more information being transmitted through the speakers. The La Carne's shape is loosely based on a 1960's Epiphone Wilshire, but all similarities end there. Much larger in size. it's construction and neck tenon big like a 1950's Les Paul Jr.  These neck thru, large neck tenon slab Echopark can't be confused with copies of old Gibsons, which are commonplace. No one makes a guitar that sounds like this. These are more robust and sounds more complex. To me, this makes for a more versatile instrument. These Echopark neck thru guitars pack a real punch, so depending on your playing style, and the amount of driving you're dealing with could be a holy grail type guitar.

The finish on this guitar is like nothing else, and with the sweet Mahogany grain showing, reminds you of perhaps museum furniture. So damn nice to look at!  Perfectly executed. Real deal Italian celluloid nitrate pick guard.

This guitar is near mint and has had no aging or relic'ing, includes original case and COA.  the gold coil humbucker is the go-to bridge pickup these-days at Echopark and it's no wonder why.  Of course, you have the freedom to install any humbucker, but these are chosen to compliment the sound of the wood.  The neck pickup an Echopark gold coil single coil.  The tone knob is a push pull which splits the bridge pickup into single coil, and at the same time maintains the tone knob functionality.

This is big ole slab of mahogany is reminiscent of not much else in existence. When you strap it on and plug it in, and hear the robust notes firing back at you, you will not be reminded of any other guitar, you will be having a new and unique experience.

8lbs. solid mahogany slab with Pigtail intonatable bridge.
