About This Listing

Hartung guitars are a masterpiece in evolution from the classic LP style guitars of the late 50s.   The lines on this guitar, called the Embrace, are just gorgeous.  It's patterned after a '58 LP complete with Kloppmann 1958 humbuckers but gets Frank's relic treatment i e the "Worntage".  I have a '59 LP copy that I have for sale and I'll keep The LP that doesn't sell.  The Hartung is considerably lighter and has a slightly thinner neck but still that nice full profile of a LP.  Maple top, mahogany body and neck, Ziricote board. There is a coil tap on the neck pickup for a single coil reduced output / sound if so desired.

This was my first "relic'ed" guitar and I wasn't sure whether I could get into a guitar whose finish wasn't perfect.  It is a pretty heavy relic top at that.  Surprisingly, I found that it relieved one of the worry of creating that first ding or scratch.  Plus, it has a really nice patina ie a very authentic relic  job.   It’s hard to call it mint but it is exactly as I initially took possession as its first owner.......so I guess it is a mint relic!?  Ha!

This is a very expressive guitar and plays like a dream.  The coil tap offers a dynamic single coil voice when blended with bridge pick up.  Also, I find the Kloppmanns to be exceptional.

This is a really fine guitar and I wish I could keep them all but the times demand some fiscal responsibility.  Original hard case included of course.
