RARE!! ORIGINAL 1950's Gretsch Cadillac Green drum set with a 9x13, 16x16, and a 14x22 bass drum. This kit is exceedingly rare and likely that there are less than 20 sets known to exist. The set, in this color is also considered by many to be one of the Holy Grail collectibles of vintage drums.
We will try to cover all the pertinent information here, but please don't hesitate to message us with any additional questions. Also see the pictures for addition information.
-The set has original gold hardware, with a few replacement lugs that have been spray painted gold to match. I believe there are two replacements on the floor tom. The rest are original. A couple tone controls are also spray painted (a long time ago) over chrome. There maybe a few other small parts that are the same as above.
-The bass drum was drilled for a tom mount sometime in the 1970's and a custom gold plate was made to cover the holes.
-The toms have original die-cast hoops. The bass drum shell and the 13" shell are 3 ply and the floor tom is an early 6-ply shell.
-The 13" and 16" have edges that have been restored and trued to original reverse round over edges - the drums tune up and down easily and sound the way 50's Gretsch's should. The bass drum edges are untouched. The drums sound great and are a fun instrument to play.
-The 13" has no round badge.
-The 16" has wrap issues- things look good from the front, but on the backside, at the seams, the paint on the inside of the wrap has flaked off in places. Please check out the pictures for further details.
-There is a 1950's rail consolette, but chrome.
-The interiors of the drums are in nice condition.

Yes, there are cosmetic condition issues with the set, but still one of the most sought after, collectable (and playable!) vintage sets in the world. Tons of vibe in look and sound. This could be great to have  in a collection, studio, or for a player who really wants one of the most iconic looking and sounding sets of the 1950's. Caddy Green sets with no extra holes etc, can go for $15k and up. Don't miss this rare opportunity to own a classic! (C)
