Description
This is a 2002 Gibson SG Special in a rare faded TV Yellow finish. This color is not often found on an SG. It's the last year they made these worn SG's with the ebony fretboard. After 2004, Gibson went to rosewood. It's a relic guitar with lots of cool looking play wear in all the right places. Nice looking wood showing beneath the finish on the edges. Rear of neck has been sanded for a soft satin feel. Mahogany body and neck. Fretboard and frets are in good condition. Bridge pickup is a stock 490T, while the neck pickup is a PAF that sounds amazing. I've had it sitting in a drawer for the last year just waiting for the right guitar. Think it might be a '57 Classic if memory serves. Used to have the black "Patent Applied For" sticker on the bottom but it fell off. It came out of another guitar and it's probably 90s to early 2000s vintage, so it's aged and super warm and creamy sounding--worth about $150 on its own! The two pickups on this guitar are an amazing duo. Weight is a very light 6 pounds, 11 ounces. Just had a full detail and setup. (Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing.)  Thanks.

Manufacturer Info
SG Special LTD ranks among the luxurious SGs. It comes with a classic double-cut body made entirely of mahogany. Standard body features include beveled top edges, contoured back, set in neck joint and almost symmetrical double cutaway. The cutaway runs very deep and in combination with the 19th fret heel, it gives an easy access to the 22nd fret. Back in 1961, SGs made a revolution in guitar construction, making departure from the fat '50s necks. Neck on this Special LTD is made of mahogany and equipped with the standard C contour. Fingerboard is made of ebony, one of two traditional Gibson fingerboard tonewoods. The other one is rosewood.

What You Get

Guitar Setup All our setups are done by our in-house trained luthier. Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. Since setup is highly subjective you may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier. Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. Thanks!
Packing
I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have a very high rate of successful guitar and bass shipping (meaning few damaged instruments). I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. I wrote a detailed story with photos on how I pack a guitar, which you can find on my StillKickinMusic site blog. If you Google "THERE IN ONE PIECE...How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.
