About This Listing

Ever seen or even heard of a carved-top Fender telecaster?  Now you have.

Ever seen or even heard of a double F-Hole Fender thinline telecaster? Now you have.

The top is hand carved that bellows outward.  The carved-top along with the double F-Hole provides unique additional hollow spacial tone capacity limited solely by your imagination.  WOW !!!

Paul Waller’s Carved Top Telecaster is a semi-hollow, double “F” hole Telecaster made from swamp ash and a book matched quilted maple top. The custom-made Curtis Novak P-90 style pickups are covered in tortoise, which is accentuated by the tortoise double bound body.

The roasted AA flame neck wears a flat lam Indian rosewood board and holds 22 - 6105 frets. It’s easily navigated with a mid-sized oval “C” shaped neck. The guitar’s color is a hand mixed teal transparent with a slight burst covered in NOS lacquer. Gold hardware completes the package of this custom one-off.

Up for sale is an extremely special guitar. We all know that if you want a better Fender you go for an American. The next step up is the Fender Custom Shop. Want one better go for a Masterbuilt Fender. Still not satisfied we go for a special Fender inspired creation master-build built for display and auction at the annual NAMM show. Just recently, Fender is offering the ultimate NAMM Masterbuilt, the "Prestige Collection"built for display at the NAMM show. The Prestige NAMM Masterbuilt are extremely rare. Masterbuilders have been know to build their Prestige guitars using extremely valuable materials such as diamonds, rubies and other jewels and 24 Karat Gold paint. These Prestige guitars have sold from $100K up to (believe it or not) $1M.   Special for the annual January Winter NAMM show, Fender now permits each of their very few masterbuilders to personally create just one unique Prestige guitar by hand based solely on their individual inspiration, no holds-barred. While admittedly our Prestige carved top double F-Hole Thinline telecaster is pricey, one could reasonably expect the value of this guitar will double or triple over time. The good news price-wise is that Hudson's NAMM Guitars is open to offers.  So if you have serious interest, don't be shy. Act soon though, as this is one-of-a kind and we are so fortunate to have recently located this rare 2020 NOS tele in  new condition.  These Prestige NAMM master-builds are few and far between; they rarely hit the market.  The opportunity is now!

Paul Waller is a Southern California native with woodworking and luthiery in his blood. He built his first guitar at age 14 in his high school woodshop, joined a cabinet shop right out of high school and, after a stint at a small Southern California guitar maker, enrolled at the acclaimed Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, from which he graduated in spring of 2000.

Waller joined Fender in 2003. He spent two years working closely with master arch-top craftsman Bob Benedetto, and became steeped in the many facets of building techniques from all the Custom Shop’s Master Builders. After an extensive seven-year apprenticeship, Waller became a Master Builder in 2010.

His Fender Custom Shop work includes bass guitars for U2’s Adam Clayton, a custom Thinline Telecaster for U2 vocalist Bono, Telecaster guitars for the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards and co-work on a Stratocaster for fellow Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, Stratocaster guitars for Buddy Guy, the Nile Rodgers “Hitmaker” Stratocaster, and a custom double-neck Jazzmaster for Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen.
