Designed after years of detailing the iconic vintage round fuzz boxes of the mid 1960's, the Faux Fuzz from 529 Electronics incorporates many NOS parts as are available. One of the secrets of the tone here are the coveted Newmarket NKT germanium transistors.
This circuit / internals of this particular unit was the first prototype I built back about 12 years ago. I've since rehoused it in my current purple enclosure. This unit has vintage-gain NOS Newmarket NKT214 transistors which are at their best pushing a slightly overdriven amp (or running into an overdrive pedal). Since these transistors themselves aren't super high gain, they're very clear, transparent and clean up when rolling back on the guitar volume and/or the fuzz control. Everything you expect from a vintage Fuzz Face.
Dimensions: 5.7" x 4.7" x 2.3" Weight: 1.1 lbs Made In USA
