nicks, cracks, dents, or dings on this Great 18". It's in GREAT SHAPE with a glorious patina that has befriended it.
As many of you may know, when it comes to ORCHESTRAL Cymbals, the companies don't make garbage!
And this particular 18" being a "SUSPENDED", the wash is LUSH and FULL. It's a PERFECT Dark Medium Crash.
Weighing in at a lovely 1478 grams this 18" plays like a Classic AA Medium Dark Crash or Crash Ride. The pitch is surprisingly LOW and the overall tone is VERY dark for an AA. This being an AA with a medium constitution the stick attack is nice and mellow as a ride cymbal (if you have a nice light touch), however being an 18", the wash and overall vibe remains CONTROLLED (as a ride.)
When you crash on it it really opens up and plays like a Medium Dark Crash. Very FULL sounding! And it has NO problem cutting through amplified music--it's BUILT to project in an AUDITORIUM!
And there are no harsh overtones.

This Sabian AA 18" ORCHESTRAL Crash is a real workhorse cymbal. Its dark, rich, warm tone makes it perfect as a light ride for jazz, blues, and acoustic settings. And its full wash and cutting ability gives it enough projection for rock, pop, country, funk, fusion, and gospel gigs. And it certainly mic-friendly.
