Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting..

A really RARE 1960's Made in Japan Acoustic Guitar. It’s a Cameo Deluxe Model FS-5 Guitar and its all original. Plays great and looks awesome…Comes with the shown deluxe Gigbag... Check those pics..

This guitar was made in sometime in the 1960’s. No way to tell what year exactly but clearly a 1960’s instrument.

Cameo was one of the many brands that Kawai made such as Teisco Guitars. Heres the many brand of quality guitars they made back in the day…

Kawai Teisco

Kawai Teisco was founded by Atswo Kaneko and Doryu Matsuda. The company also produced the popular Ibanez badge in the 1960s. Kawai Teisco made their own house brands Kawai, Teisco, Del Rey and Teisco Del Rey. Badged guitars produced by the Kawai Teisco factories include Apollo, Aquarius, Arbiter, Atlas, Audition, Avar, Ayar, Barth, Beltone, Black Jack, Cameo, Cipher, Concert, Cougar, Crown, Daimaru, Decca, Diasonic, Domino, Duke, Emperador, Heit Deluxe, Holiday, Imperial, Inter-Mark Cipher, Jedson, Kay, Kent, Kimberly, Kingsley, Kingston, Keefy, Lindell, Marquis, May Queen, Minister, Noble, Prestige, Randall, Recco, Regina, Rexina, Sakai, Satellite, Schaffer, Sekova, Silvertone, Sorrento, Sterling, Swinger, Tele Star, Top Twenty, Victoria, and Winston. Possible badged guitars made by the company include: Astrotone, Demian, G-Holiday, Lafayette, Master, Orange, Tamaki and Trump.

I have sold dozens of these guitars branded by the Kawai factory. I look for them specifically as they are highly regarded as the top of the Made in Japan line of guitars coming to the USA back in the 1960’s.

This guitar has a 151/2  inch wide body with Square Shoulders and it plays great. No sore fingers with this one. It has the adjustable bridge like the Gibson Guitars of the same ERA…. I have not seen one like this from Cameo... Only superficial dings and pick scratches on this beauty.. One scratch on the back of note...See pic 11... It was well cared for .. The frets are in very good shape. I am so happy the Raised Cameo Logo is still with this guitar. We would never have figured out which guitar is was without it. There were lots of makers and model brands coming into the USA to try to satisfy the huge Rock n’ Roll Guitar demand! It even has the sound hole label...see pic 5.

Check out the Deluxe extra padded Gigbag we are shipping it with. Extra protection for your cool new Made in Japan Guitar!

Sold as-is as its vintage and used, however, I have been hand picking my customers instruments for them for over 20 years now. They all loved the guitars I found them. This cool Cameo will certainly not be an exception.

Thanks for checking out our cool guitars!
