About This Listing

Stunning example of Japanese craftsmanship right here! This guitar is gorgeous and it plays and sounds as good as it looks! Modeled after a 1959 Les Paul and with enough natural patina on the hardware to be convincing! Even has the proper color for the toggle switch cap and check out the nicely bound body and neck. It’s in great shape overall with one spot that has been repaired under the strap pin (discolored but smooth to the touch and leveled) and a small ding in the back. There are also some hairline cracks in the plastic jack plate. Aside from that it has great gloss and few signs of wear. The hardware has acquired a natural patina that people pay extra for now on reissues from Gibson! Kluson Deluxe type tuners and a rosewood fretboard.
Ships in the hard case shown.

Text from the 1989 catalog...

The pursuit of sound in the Mint collection lies in the production of a perfect original sound based on detailed analysis. With a solid body, it would be ideal if there were no holes in the body, but space for mounting controls etc. was absolutely necessary. Therefore, it can be said that the neck joint and the space of the body are extremely important points in creating the basic sound. First of all, in the mint collection, we get into the essence of this sound sharply, keep the hole processing to the minimum necessary, set the resonance in each part of the body as smoothly as possible, and with the influence of the weight balance of the whole body, the point to produce a good sound Holds down securely. Speaking of another point of sound pursuit, of course, is the pickup. All Greco pickups place importance on matching with bodies, and the principle of simultaneous development with the guitar is the super-hickups such as "DRY" and "SCREAMIN" created by the development of the mint collection, in addition to strong waist strength and sharpness. Its feature is a sound character that has both bulge and richness, and like many name instruments, it emits a sound that penetrates rapidly while melting into the sound. The straight sound and energy that is emitted when a guitar is directly plugged into an amp is the form of the Greco Mint collection, where only guitarists and guitars exist.
