Ormsby Hype GTR 6 (Run 8) Blue Aged Copper

The GTR range is Ormsby’s first production ready instrument range, built to withstand the rigours of touring, without the custom build price tag.

Ormsby’s famous CopperTop graphic design, is now available on the HypeGTR model! The Aged Blue Copper Graphic pays tribute to the world class and intensely popular CustomShop models proudly build by hand for years. To achieve this effect, Ormsby aged sheets of copper using our secret formulas, the same we use in our CustomShop, then picked the best examples of each, and had ultra high definition prints made that are then sealed under the lacquer.

MULTISCALE – DIMENSIONS
The fanned arrangement of the Multiscale fretboard creates scale lengths for each individual string. This is called the “spread”. For the GTR range, the spread is as follows:
Six string: 25.5″ – 27.5″ Multiscale

Due to the increased scale length on the bass side, the tension of the strings increases. We recommend you try dropping a gauge on the bottom end, for example, if you usually use 9-46’s, try 9-42’s.

Body dimensions (thickness): 38mm HypeGTR. For comparison, Jacksons, Ibanez RG, Fender Strats, etc are generally 47mm.

Neck shape: 19mm @ 1st, 21 @ 17th, D shape with round shoulders. AKA “thin U”, carbon reinforced rods.

HARDWARE
The bridges are custom made to exacting tolerances by Hipshot, using a variety of materials proven for longevity and tone. Hipshot machineheads (locking).

TONE
Ormsby’s Hot Rock A8 Humbucker features pride of place in the bridge position, with an De La Creme A2 in the neck. Both of these pickups are made to Ormsby’s own specifications by their partners in Korea. 500k pots for volume, a 3 way toggle, and 500k push/pull tone pot for coil splitting. Bone nut.

FINISH
All finishes are satin bodies with satin lacquer necks.
