The Money Channel is a 500 series channel strip that includes the PBR8, 8 Channel 500 series rack with built in patchbay, the Black Lion Auteur MKII 500 preamp and the Lindell 7X500 compressor.

The Auteur MKII 500 is one of the most “bang for your buck†500-series preamps in existence!

You get all of the sound of the 1â„2 rack version, but with the addition of a Hi-Z input! It features an ultra-fast input stage that captures lots of detail and nuance, and a signal path transformer that adds some “beef†on the way out. Once you hear the Auteur MKII 500, you’ll want to load your 500 rack full of ‘em!

The Seven X Five Hundred is a one channel compressor/limiter. It’s a FET (field effect transistor) design that incorporates some new and exclusive features such as â€High Pass Sidechain Filterâ€, â€Mix Knob†mix between dry and wet signal (parallel compression). The 7X-500 is our take on the classic â€1176 Soundâ€. It can be smooth or it can be a rock’n'roll monster when using ratio 100:1 (all in).

Issues with older BAE racks! Please be aware that the older BAE racks use 30-pin Edacs which is not 500 Series spec’d. You must bridge the pins on the back to make connection on both sides of the 7X-500 pcb. This is very crucial to get the power and i/o’s to work properly! If you have an older BAE rack or are unsure of the connection, please check the soldering of the Edac’s to XLR’s BEFORE POWERING ON THE UNIT! Thank you. - Issue solved in Rev2

The PBR-8 has unlimited routing options for quickly dialing in sounds that don’t require modules to be loaded in any particular order. Our industry has seen an explosion of 500 series products in recent years and with it, an equal number of 500 series power supplies. This format excels in its potential for quickly dialing in sounds, however, has been greatly limited by the lack of flexible routing options without the use of expensive external patch bays and wiring harnesses. The portability and compactness of the 500 Series format has always been undercut by the need for bulky, full 19†rack mountable patch bays. The ability to use a 500 Series setup in a live performance has been hampered by the need to carry around heavy snakes and have access to the back panel on stage, with no easy solution for linking modules in separate racks.

We at Black Lion Audio have never settled for industry convention or what is considered “good enough.†Instead, as always, we have approached this problem with the goal of delivering functionality and performance never before available. Enter the Patch bay Rack 8! Equipped with a fully balanced TT/Bantam patch bay, the PBR-8 has unlimited routing options for quickly dialing in sounds that don’t require modules to be loaded in any particular order. Easily try out a signal chain, re-route it, split it using one of the built-in “Multsâ€, send it to modules in another rack, route it back, then send it out, all from the front panel!

Providing a stable and reliable power supply has been long been one of the issues dogging the 500 Series format. To solve this issue, the PBR-8 features OST (On Slot Technology) developed in Europe by Heritage Audio. This technology allows us to take advantage of individual regulation per channel, insuring that noise, power issues, or crosstalk from one module does not affect other modules. The hefty power supply provides 400mA per rail per slot maximum, with an overall of 1.6A (1.8A non continuous) per rail, whichever is reached first. Coupled with the patch bay, OST not only makes the PBR-8 one of the quietest and most reliable 500 Series power supplies, but also the most functional and flexible ever built.

Note: Please use the M3 screws included with the PBR-8 for installing 500 Series modules. Using 4-40 screws will result in stripping the chassis.
