Custom built Rickenbacker 4001 Left-Handed 1975 White with White binding

I custom ordered this bass With the shown pickups in Dec.of 1973 and received it in May of 1975.This Rickenbacker 4001 white bass with white binding is in overall very good condition. All electronics are original! This vintage bass plays and sounds great with zero issues. It has the proper Rickenbacker growl and just enough wear to give it some cool vintage mojo. Everything on this is original from the factory It weighs 8.91 pounds and has a 1.595" brass nut. The neck thickness measures 0.891" at the 1st fret and 0.882" at the 12th fret.

The body has typical wear for a bass this old, including some scuffs and scrapes throughout, but nothing major. All white binding is excellent condition with no issues except light cracking around the binding edges. The hardware all looks good with only mild patina. All electronics are original except for the input jacks and it all works perfectly (I will include the old jacks). The potentiometers all date to 1975 and all solder joints look untouched. The back of the neck is very smooth and clean with only mild wear. The rosewood fingerboard looks very good. The frets look like new with little if any wear. I play basses with right hand stringing lefthanded. The tuners work and turn smoothly.

Originally introduced an upgrade to the Rickenbacker 4000, the Rickenbacker 4001 is one of the all-time classic rock basses. Offered with a combination of a fat Rickenbacker bass pickup at the bridge and a smaller bar pickup at the neck, the 4001 gave bassists a wide range of big bass tones to work with. Starting in 1971, stereo “Rick-O-Sound” outputs became standard on the 4001.
