About This Listing

Here is a super rare bass made by the Pearl Guitar Company (rumored to be the same as the Pearl Drum Company). These were made in Japan in the late 70's by Matsumoku. The serial number is "2002196" and there are numbers on the backs of the pickups, but I don't know if they correspond to any dates . The nut is 1.60" wide, it measures 0.89" thick at the 1st fret and 1.05" thick at the 12th fret. Actual weight is 10 lbs 2 oz.

The body is in very good condition overall with some light scratches, scuffs and small dings. There is a a buckle rash on the back but nothing that's gone into the wood. No major issues and and nothing out of the ordinary for a used vintage guitar. There are no cracks, modifications or structural issues.

The neck is straight and the frets show average wear. It's in excellent playing condition with no major issues. The fretboard is clean and the back of the neck has some small impressions. The headstock has a few dings around the edges, but no cracks, repairs or extra holes.

The hardware and electronics are original and in excellent working condition. It comes with a vintage faux aligator hardshell case which is a little bit too big for the bass but will get it to you in one piece. It has some general wear but all of the latches, hinges and handle are in excellent working order.

Please note that I do not set up my guitars before mailing. I have played it and everything is great as far as I'm concerned, but you may need to change the strings, adjust the action or do other maintenece to get it to your preferences.

I list some of my items on both eBay and Reverb. In the event that this item sells on both marketplaces before I can take the other listing down, I will honor the first sale and refund the second. There will be no exceptions to this!

SHIPPING: $75.00 UPS Ground. Reverb doesn't have a shipping calculator to give you an accurate rate based on your location and they automatically add their insurance to the total on higher priced items.  So this is really just an estimate on the high-end and will probably be less if you are close to the West Coast.

I ALWAYS refund any shipping over charge if the total for postage and packaging comes to less than $75.00. All guitars MUST be signed for by an adult at the address! I mail all of my guitars inside guitar boxes and pad with biodegradable peanuts. Local pickup and payment in cash are available, so feel free to contact me if you're local and want to check it out.

TRADES: I am a dealer and am not looking for any more gear for myself. I may not be able to offer much credit for a trade since I'm buying to re-sell. I do not consider trades outside of Reverb. We may be able to work something out if you have your guitar listed in your store and we simply purchase each other's items.

OFFERS: I price my guitars as low as possible and don't consider offers, so please do not ask for a lower price!
