#177 built for me by the highly regarded luthier Thomas Rodriguez in Richmond, VA, finished Jan 2009; I am the only owner. This is a visually stunning guitar that has outstanding sonic qualities (tone, sustain, volume/projection). I have stored it in temperature and humidity controlled environments its entire life always in a case.
Thomas Rodriguez guitars are extremely difficult to find, often none are available. Dream Guitars has sold all 6 they offered over the years (some new, some used). New Thomas Rodriguez guitars are far more expensive.
Construction:
Standard scale and body size
Lattice braced
Honduran Rosewood back and sides, back filet flame maple
Western Cedar top, lacquer finish
Mahogany neck, Ebony fretboard
Top side has a sound port
Head stock flame maple inset
Lower bout amboyna
Rosette amboyna burl inset
Flame maple bindings
There are no structural problems. There are minor usage imperfections that only show up with very close inspection--the ones I see on closest inspection are a light .25 inch long scratch below the first string and a .25 inch minor impression on the lower end when I look at the top up close. No major scratches. There is a small string snapback marr below the bridge that was repaired by a classical guitar luthier. These imperfections are not noticeable when you are more than a couple of feet away.
Strings are new D'Addario EJ-49--the black nylons look great. Comes with like-new RoadRunner case (circa 2017) and Oasis OH-1 suspended humidifier. I will ship using the highly regarded Aeris Shipping System (from Stew Mac) for maximum protection of the case and guitar using FEDEX or UPS insured 2-day. Upon receipt, you have seven (7) business days to return it if you are not satisified. You will pay for return shipping costs using a label I provide and the same shipping materials as sent to you.
Price dropped from 4300 to 3950 for quick sale.
