Melodium RM6 1950's. Vintage Ribbon mic. Very RCA 44bx sounding. Rare, excellent condition.

Rare 1950’s Vintage Melodium RM6 in really good condition. Comes in original box.

With the Virus and job cutbacks I need to sell off some gear. Here is an amazing opportunity to grab an amazing Ribbon microphone that has the big sounds of the Melodium 42b/RCA 44Bx but with a little price tag.
With Melodium making RCA 44BX ribbon styled mics - Melodium France called the 42B, it was clear they were on a winner with prices now soaring close to RCA44BX prices.
When RCA remodelled the RCA 44BX to make it smaller, Melodium followed suit. But unlike RCA who dropped there winning Horseshoe design, Melodium kept there similar design philosophy and made the the slightly smaller RM6.
The motor assembly has horseshoe magnets above and below the ribbon (like a smaller RCA 44BX), and an inductive filter with multiple cut-off frequencies.
Melodium was on a winner. These are extremely rare and hard to find.
What makes this special is that this RM6 is in fantastic condition and comes with its original box and mount and leads. Very rare.
Everything was serviced by UK Ribbon Expert Xaudia, new ribbon, new mic lead, Internal cleaning as over the years metal filings can collect on the magnets and severely effect the sound sound. Re-solder and check leads and connectors and replaced baffles.
So this mic will last another 50 x years with no problems.
I have priced this mic at under market value for a quick sale.
It has a smooth low end and the frequency cutoffs work very well to allow the tiger end to shine through. Actually I was a little surprised at how much high end info there is on the signal on this original vintage ribbon mic.
So if you are interested in a Classic Ribbon for your recordings that has tons of Vintage mojo ad dont want to pay RCA 44BX prices then this mic is for you.
