The Rockman Acoustic Guitar Pedal will give your electric guitar the resonant sound of an acoustic. It can also be used to enhance the sound of your acoustic/electric guitar. With the Acoustic Guitar Pedal, you can dial acoustic characteristics into your electric guitar. You can adjust the brightness to simulate the tonal qualities of guitar tops from spruce to mahogany and you can match the fullness of sound associated with acoustic body sizes ranging from 000 to jumbo. This revolutionary pedal can also be used with bass guitar, violin, banjo, mandolin or anything with a pick-up! Although, the most common application for the Acoustic Guitar Pedal is with an electric guitar and a standard guitar amplifier, you can also use the Acoustic Guitar Pedal as a preamp for recording your guitar direct to tape. This works well with electric as well as acoustic/electric guitars.

There are four control knobs on the Acoustic Guitar Pedal.

 * The Volume knob controls the overall output level.
 * The Top knob controls the high treble frequencies. This is the brightness in your sound.
 * The Body knob controls the low bass frequencies. This mimics the acoustic guitar cavity size.
 * The Gain knob enhances the signal coming into the pedal, thereby controlling the amount of compression available for smooth sustain and even dynamics and makes up for signal loss. Beware, however: Gain will also enhance floor noise or "hiss.

To get the sound you want, you will need to try different setting on your guitar, your amp and your Acoustic Guitar Pedal. Because of the differences in guitars, pickups, amps and effects setups, there are many variables in the sound contoured by the Acoustic Guitar Pedal. Different setting combinations will give you different sounds. To set up your Acoustic Guitar Pedal, connect a cable from your guitar to the pedal INPUT and connect another cable from the pedal OUTPUT to your amp. We suggest this basic setup routine when locating the best setting for your guitar/amp combination:

 1. Set your amp and guitar to a clean channel/setting. (Note: You can also use a "dirty" channel or distortion setting on your amp, if you turn the Acoustic Guitar Pedal down to eliminate the amp overload distortion.)
 2. Turn on the Acoustic Guitar Pedal. ("Effect On" light with light up.)
 3. Set all control knobs at 5
 4. Adjust the TOP control until you find the brightness you want. You may need to decrease the Gain to eliminate any distortion =96 or increase the Gain to enable more signal.
 5. Adjust the BODY control until you find the richness in tone you are looking for. Again, adjust the Gain to eliminate distortion or enable more signal.
 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have the sound you want.
 7. Adjust the VOLUME control to the level you want. If the Volume has added distortion, go back to step 4 and fine-tune your sound.
