Inspired by the Fender Custom Shop's 30th anniversary, the annual guitars on display at the NAMM show represents the peerless craftsmanship, artistry and detail that elevated the Custom Shop to worldwide acclaim.
Fender master builder Scott Buehl found inspiration for his Prestige creation in the forgotten art of frosted Duco, a finish used on National Resonators and Dobros in the 1930s.  The finish is quite simply astonishing (not likely feasible that words alone can provide a just description of the finish). This golden Stratocaster features an alder ‘60s-style body laden with gold NOS Frosted Duco lacquer by B-Fanatic, as well as Fender AS jumbo frets, a chrome RSD bridge, and a matching pickguard with Abby Ybarra hand-wound pickups.
Best of both words:  A Strat that one can add to a collection and gaze at it hours at a time and/or a Strat that one can play for hours at a time exploring all those wonderful tones that this guitar is capable of.

NOTE:  While the guitar is essentially un-played, we recently noticed a small .5" scratch/ding on the top below the bridge likely incurred by handling, hence the $10K  price reduction.

Up for sale is an extremely special guitar. We know that if you want a better Fender you go for an American. The next step up is the Fender Custom Shop. Want one better go for a Masterbuilt Fender. Still not satisfied we go for a special creation master-build built for display and auction at the annual NAMM show. Now, Fender is offering the ultimate Masterbuilt, the "Prestige Collection"built for display at the NAMM show. The Prestige NAMM Masterbuilt are extremely rare. Masterbuilders have been know to build their Prestige guitars using extremely valuable materials such as diamonds, rubies and other jewels and 24 Karat Gold paint. These Prestige guitars have sold from $100K  up to (believe it or not) $1M. While admittedly our Prestige Frosted Gold Duco Strat is pricey, one could reasonably expect the value of this guitar will double or triple over time.  The good news price-wise is that Hudson's NAMM Guitars is open to offers.  So if you have serious interset, don't be shy.  Act soon though, as this is one-of-a kind and we are so fortunate to have recently located this 3 year old NOS strat in as new condition.

What you are drooling over right now is the Scott Buehl " Gold Frosted Duco Burst" NOS strat made for display and auction at the 2017 NAMM show. You know when Fender names a guitar you're looking at a special one-of-a-kind guitar. For this one, Fender chose the name "Frosted Duco Strat". This is the second Fender Masterbuilt guitar built by Scott since the early 1990's. The first Fender Masterbuilt guitar built by Scott since the early 1990s is the "Silver Frosted Duco Burst" strat made for display and auction at the 2016 NAMM show (which we also have up for sale on this site). Scott was trained by Custom Shop pioneers Michael Stevens and John English. We're told this guitar was two years in the making. This killer guitar has a NOS frosted duco burst finish which is RIDICULOUS! I can definitely say that this guitar truly looks as if is was put in the icebox for some time - very frosted indeed! All this craftsmanship is taking place on an alder body, maple neck and rosewood slab fretboard. The strat sports a 60's "C" back-shape and has a 9.5" radius with 6105 frets. The pups are Josefina hand-wound fat 50's and it has five-way switching. For the killer look, has vintage-style hardware with coordinated frosted pattern pick guard. The back plate has an amazing charcoal frosted duco finish to complete the look.

Having been created and presented specifically for NAMM in 2017, this guitar will no doubt grow in value proving to be an excellent investment. Many of you know that the fender NAMM masterbuilts are difficult to come by. There exists only a few, they must be won in auction at NAMM, and they tend to be pricey. The guitar in brand new condition and comes with the tremolo, the OHSC and the original NAMM certificate as well as the COA hand signed by Scott Buehl.
