Replacement Fender Rhodes Sustain pedal and rod made by the now defunct, Speakeasy Vintage. This came with a 73 Fender Rhodes I bought. The previous owner had it installed. I think it’s a more temporary fix if you don’t have the funds for a more sophisticated solution but he seemed to think it worked fine. I bought a Vintage Vibe replacement so I thought I’d sell this here in case anyone else is in a bind for a cheap alternative.
As you can see it’s a pretty elemental design.. it’s essentially a piece of wood with a metal piece acting as a pedal to push the sustain rod (a little warped & rusted) up into the harp of the Rhodes. The same function as a real one, just more DIY!
The hardware part that was supposed to thread the rod into the bottom pedal was never present, so the rod doesn’t screw into the base. When it’s installed into the Rhodes, it doesn’t matter much of course.
