The Galanti Grand Prix was an electric guitar made around 1967 to 1968. Body style is double cut-away.The pickups, controls and jack socket are all mounted on a lightning bolt shaped scratch plate. The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard and dot position markers.
It has the accordion style push button pickup selectors which betray Galanti's history as an accordion maker. Two single coil pickups, with single volume and control knobs. The original control circuit leaves something to be desired though: the bridge pickup is very bright whereas the neck pickup too bassy. Apparently many Grand Prix owners modify or bypass these controls to improve the tone.
This guitar might need a refret.
