I'm selling a phenomenal sounding, all original 1968 Gibson Mastertone RB500 Banjo for a collector friend of mine.
You can see how well the binding color has aged. It is an exquisite instrument in excellent playing condition.
We had the banjo appraised by renowned expert George Gruhn, who valued the banjo at $3850.00 in 2013.
Maple neck and resonator, wood marquetry ornamentation on the sides and neck of the resonator, gold plated metal hardware, flat head tone ring, Gibson and crown shaped peghead inlays, ebony fingerboard with bowtie inlays..
The RB-500 model was available from 1964 through 1969.
