Up for sale is this vintage 1930's Recording King 1124 M5 archtop acoustic guitar. This guitar is in great condition, but does show a wear and a few repairs. The guitar plays great with very low and comfortable action. There are a few notes that buzz a bit, but the guitar plays on every string and does not fret out anywhere on the neck. At some point, the original checkerboard binding on the treble side of the neck must have come off, because it has been replaced with plain white binding. It wasn't the best job, as the binding can be felt a bit (especially on the first few frets). The back may have also been rebound at some point, but it's hard to tell. Not horrible and it didn't bother us too much while sitting down with the guitar. Someone has also reglued the wings on the headstock and, while sturdy and sound, didn't do a perfect job. This can be seen in the pictures. The body appears to be crack free and the top has no sink to it under the bridge. Someone has put a replacement pickguard on it at some point, but the original, uncracked pickguard is included. The guitar will included a well-worn older hardshell case. Don't miss out as you likely won't find a better playing M5 for a long time!
