This is a Chris "Adjustomatic" parlor guitar made by Jackson-Guldan in Columbus, Ohio in the ‘40s. Possibly the inspiration for Bob Taylor’s bolt-on necks, it has a unique neck connection that allows the player to easily turn a screw behind the neck to change the angle from finger-style to slide and anywhere in between. Birch laminate body, natural finish top, black sides, back and neck, stained fingerboard.
Measures:
36.25" long x 13.25" lower bout / 9.5" upper bout x 3.5" deep at the heel; 24" scale; 1 11/16" nut; moderate D profile neck.
Original Kluson Deluxe tuners. Good vintage condition with a few scuffs and scratches but very little play wear. No other damage, repairs or other issues. Action set to “adjustomatic” medium. Bridge looks like a replacement. Load, woody sound. Chipboard case.
