My father purchased this new in 1980. I have taken it apart, cleaned, and removed all of the nasty black disintegrating foam moog originally had under facing. I have found all parts that are needed for full restoration, and can send links. There is three switches missing that I have placed in the on position. With volume knob workarounds, it is still functional. Everything works and is in surprisingly good condition. Lots of fun! I can FaceTime or take video of it in action.
The Moog Opus 3 is analog poly string synthesizer released in 1980. The Opus-3 had 3 distinct sections for strings, brass, and organ alongside of two analog VCF sections, some simple modulation capabilities, an on-board chorus effect and a unique stereo panning effect found rarely, if at all on synthesizers of the time. While perhaps the companies' simplest synthesizer, it does retain the trademark Moog sound and remains a classic vintage string synthesizer.
