About This Listing

Up for sale is a beautiful Guild F50 Archback, Flame Maple, in excellent condition. It was built in the New Hartford, CT plant in 2012. This is my first time owning a NH built guild after owning over 70 guild acoustics mostly built in Westerly, Rhode Island. Let me just say I am blown away by this guitar. I am a diehard Westerly guy and defender, who has always preferred older Guilds. As difficult as it is to say, this newer F50 Guild is making me reconsider my position on ranking the Guild factories. If every NH Guild sounds like this, then I have been converted, and am now a true believer in this factory.
The factor that has stunned me the most is the depth and sustain on the bass response. It's like i am accompanied by a couple of cello players, or an acoustic bass player, when i pluck the bass notes. I feel it rumble against my belly, and it just holds the note and volume so well to give me time to articulate some high and midrange notes when playing fingerstyle. When i swap to a pick, and play some bluegrass with an aggressive attack, it maintains an excellent balance over all the notes without sounding muddy or slightly muzzled.
The condition is amazing with only the slightest cosmetic flaws. I added a pic of the only two real flaws on this guitar, just so i could have something negative to report on it. There is a pencil tip size ding below the bridge and a 1/4 in weather check that lies just beside the bridge. I have pointed out each with a blue arrow. No weather checking anywhere else on the guitar. No binding issues whatsoever. The bridge is securely glued down with no lift, and the saddle is at a healthy height. The neck angle is good, and string action is pretty much perfect in my opinion. There are some minor swirls on the pickguard, and some faint swirls and scratches around the edges on the front and back of the body, but nothing that even warrants a picture. If you need to see them, please ask for additional pictures. There is no fretboard wear on the ebony board or in the metal frets. The gold Gotoh open back tuners work great, and really help lighten the weight on the neck end compared to the older Grover Rotomatics. The case has a few dings and scratches, but no real issues, and the handle and all latches work properly. It comes with the premium alligator style deluxe case. The pickup works great. It has a microphone mounted around the sound hole with volume and blending wheels to make adjustments between the mic and the under saddle pick up.
Overall, this guild is excellent with no real issues, and is ready to go right out of the box. It needs nothing, and i doubt you will have to spent a single dollar on this guitar for many years to come. I have debated putting up one of my best westerly guilds from my personal collection instead of selling this guild. It's that good. But I have so many great Guild guitars that I will get as much joy out of finding this guitar a new owner who has waited years for their perfect dream guild to come along. It looks just like the new F55s from Oxnard that are selling for 3500-4000. Here is your chance to get a newer model guild at a much lesser price. I doubt this listing lasts very long, so please message me with any and all offers, or requests for pics and information. It will be listed on my guildacoustics web page as well as all the other major online marketplaces. I buy more used guilds every week, so check back with me to see what is in my inventory. Thanks for looking!!!
