Rare guitar, not more than 20 made. This one was originally sold as a complete kit, to be assembled by a luthier. Specs are included above, from an original catalog scan. The only thing not original on the guitar is the pickup rings. The original black ones were broken, plus looked terrible anyway. Tone control is push/pull to split the coils. Has Chandler pickups and electronics / truss rod covers. Has a ding on the front headstock corner and a ding in the side above the input jack. Has 2-3 very small dings on the body that I can't pick up with the camera. Otherwise, there are typical swirl marks and normal play wear. There is a chip underneath the high E tuner washer. When I got the guitar, I did not like how the pickup rings sat, so a luthier redrilled some of the ring mounting holes. You can see the edge of an old hole on the bottom of the bridge pickup. Finally, someone went a little crazy filing new slots in the nut, but they don't affect how it plays.

The outdoor pics make the guitar look red...i added an indoor pic to show how it typically appears more on the orange side.

Additional details from the builder, Paul Chandler:

"I built those guitars as an experiment back in the early 1990s. They have several key features that make them play & sound different than the guitars that inspired these.

They have a 25.5" scale, like a gretsch or fender. Gibson of course uses a 24.75" scale. The longer scale increases string tension which increases sustain, has a brighter tone, & improves tuning stability, especially on the "G" string which is always the most difficult string on any gibson. The result is super long sustain & exceptional note definition & clarity, clean or distorted, even on the neck pu.

The body is chambered which makes it very lightweight & softens the midrange response. It also resonates very nicely & again enhances the natural sustain.

The bridge pickup is moved forward toward the neck by 1/4" to fatten up the lead tone."

Including older pics from when I originally purchased it, that show the black pickup rings.

Will include and ship in hard shell case.
