About This Listing

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              You're looking at a 1st generation (1950's era) Electro Voice 644 dynamic microphone known simply enough as the "shotgun mic" due to it's unusual and obvious appearance. This piece has been thoroughly cleaned and tested.
It should be noted right away that this mic has a dead dynamic element and should be used for display purposes only.

The original polished chrome body on this 644 is in pretty decent shape as seen in the pictures provided with typical scuffs and small scratches in the finish. Tiny pitting on the length of the barrel. There are no dents on the tube however which is always a bonus as most of these mics generally do. It has a good look even after all these year. I would rate the cosmetic condition an easy 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10 and one of the nicer examples I have personally seen. The larger polished chrome mics usually show heavier wear. The front screen has no deformation or tarnish and the joint mechanism works perfectly.

The on / off switches works just as it should and slides smoothly and the rear and front E.V badges look pretty good.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE...                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             A period Atlas DS-5 desk stand from the 1960's or 50's made in Brooklyn, NY. It's in decent shape but shows it's age like the mic. Quite a few scuff marks in the original paint but zero chips or discoloration. The heavy and wide cast iron base keeps the mic from tipping over which you'll appreciate as many desk stands just aren't a good match for this mic. The chrome stem looks decent with lite corrosion. The 3 original rubber pads are in excellent condition as well. It's a very heavy cast iron stand weighing in at 2 1/2 pounds.
There is an Atlas LO-2B on / off adapter included that allows you to take the mic off the stand quickly by depressing the button and lifting upwards.

The LO-2B is in good overall shape and works perfectly. A nice adapter to have and it raises the mic slightly upward.

A very cool piece to display in the "Man Cave", office, home or studio. Due to the extremely heavy weight of the items shipping will cost a bit more than usual for international rates but domestic is too bad.

As with all my other vintage microphones...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. International buyers are welcome as well. BUYER MUST PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS or will lose rights to this item, unpaid item report will be filed and will be re-listed. If you don't intend on buying not commit to buy please. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
