Another Martin in need of some serious TLC
The neck is mahogany with a rosewood faceplate. It does not have any cracks. Waverly tuners are original but not all of the screws are. The ebony fretboard was sawed off during an old neck reset and is loose, the last two frets have also been filed more narrow. The fretboard has a fair amount of chipping and will need some tlc. The fretboard extension was removed surprisingly cleanly with little tearout.
The top has a few cracks. Two are still open and two were repaired previously. The top does have a slight belly. There is evidence on the soundhole of a pickup which was screwed on and a pickguard was also screwed on with 3 screws at some point in time. The bridge area has evidence of 3 bolts to hold a bridge down and the string holes are pretty far forward. The scalloped bracing is in decent shape but the bridge plate has had holes filled and redrilled. There is likely some loose braces as well.
There is a side crack towards the rear of the bass side which is glued. There is also a seam separation in the back and a crack with some missing rosewood binding. Evidence of a 3 holed tailpiece is there and the binding is slightly squished. There is an identical crack on the treble side.
The instrument’s lacquer is questionable and a wipe on finish has been applied over it.
There may be minor issues that we overlooked but we’ve done our best to photograph and describe this instrument. Sold as is
