Pearl badged MIJ guitars have a mysterious history depending on whom you talk to. They appear to have been widely distributed, finding their way to Australia, Canada, Europe and the United States with fewer in North America. Believed to be a brief venture of the famous Pearl drum corporation during the guitar craze of the 1970's.
Pearl electric guitars made in Japan by Matsumoku are good Les Paul copies. They seem to be pretty rare here in the United States but far more numerous in Australia and Europe.
Condition is Very Good for a guitar over 40 years old. A few minor dings and scratches with the most noticeable being a nick in the neck binding, strictly cosmetic (see photos). It is not obvious and can't be felt when playing.
Pots have been replaced and one of the original gold speed knobs was apparently glued on because it has the shaft still stuck in it. Knobs were changed to chrome LP style and 3-way switch tip was also changed to chrome. (original knobs & tip will be included). Everything else is original except for a pair of chrome pickup covers that were slipped over the zebra humbuckers and can be easily removed if you prefer. (Last photo shows zebra pickups without chrome covers on).
Comes with padded Gibson gigbag.
Beautiful, great playing and looking vintage, rare guitar.
