Merida Diana DG-20KOAGACES Electro Acoustic Guitar - Natural

The Merida DG-20KOAGACES model comes from the outstanding Diana series of acoustic guitars, offering you a well-built, sturdy guitar using choice tonewoods for the best sound. The Diana Roman temple is a well known landmark in Merida city. In 1755 this temple was strong enough to resist a huge earthquake, thus proving its endurance and durability. Merida used this temple as an influence to design the DG-20KOAGACES guitar.

With a grand auditorium body profile with a single cutaway, the DG-20KOAGACES allows you to easily reach the upper frets. Solid Sitka spruce is a widely chosen tonewood for building guitar soundboards, and Merida have elected this to construct the body top of the DG-20KOAGACES as it projects the acoustic timbre of the guitar with clarity and volume. The back and sides are made up of laminated koa; as it is laminated, it strengthens the wood to enable it to last longer, while its natural colouring complements the guitar.

A mahogany neck is securely joined to the body of the DG-20KOAGACES guitar, offering a smooth playing feel in your hand. Aboard the neck is a 20-fret pau ferro fingerboard, which is left without inlays to provide you with entirely clean and empty frets to play on.

The guitar can certainly project with volume, however Merida have fitted it with the Merida / Fishman ISY201 preamp, so you can plug into an amp and play out loud without losing any of its true acoustic tone. With controls for Volume, Phase and Tone shaping, its easy-to-use interface means you can remodel your sound to suit your playing needs.

An original two wood tone bridge is fitted to the body of the guitar, and this bridge is in fact influenced by the Roman aqueduct bridge in Merida city, the Acueducto de los Milagros. This aqueduct is built from two materials, thus inspiring the bridge on the guitar to be as strong and similarly built, while ensuring the connection between the strings and the body is well maintained.
