I usually make my own necks, but DC Kunkle has perfected a baritone neck that fits on a regular 25.5” scale body. I hand carved this wild cherry perfectly balanced body, then loaded it with Alnico 5 pickups shipped from Germany, Gotoh tuners from Japan, TusQ nut, D’Addario elliptical strap pins, a 920D 4-way switch loaded control plate from Arkansas, and a Pure Tone 4-contact output jack. Its 8.2 pounds gives it substance and resonance. If you are looking at this, then you probably know about the deep, rich satisfying tones of a guitar tuned to B-E--A-D-F#-B. The extra scale length (26.5”) keeps the strings tight without buzz. This is #185 of my handcrafted instruments made in my Alaskan riverside workshop, not intended to be factory or CNC perfect, just a unique heritage instrument built for a lifetime of pleasure.
