About This Listing

LOW-CUT from eurorack essentials is an passive -18dB filter with fixed frequencies. Great for sound design!

Cause of the analog circuit - all assemble modules - sound different !

Only high quality parts are used - but - as you may knew - every analog component has a drift...

So you don´t get a digital active 18dB filter with fixed frequencies... it sounds totally different, but with signal attenuation you will get a great result.
I recommend a signal gaining plus x 3-4, cause of the -18dB signal loss (it's a passive 18dB filter) and the signal loss depends on the audio signal frequency range, you have to gain the filter signal to get the right result - there is no auto leveling depending on the incoming audio signal frequencies. And, cause of three chained 6dB analog passive filters - it´s not a clean -18dB filter at one fixed frequency .... something around.... listen.... try - use your ears... this is more a part of an analog setup for sound design, not an active LOW-CUT from your MIXER or DAW....

LOW-CUT is an passive filter with 8 fixed frequencies:
  • 160Hz
  • 100Hz
  • 80Hz
  • 72Hz
  • 60Hz
  • 50Hz
  • 30Hz
  • 20Hz
SPECIAL: All inputs are chained...
INPUT1 --> INPUT2, INPUT 2 --> INPUT3, ......, INPUT8 --> INPUT 1 :)

Just kill some low ends.

Works great with any
  • Kick
  • Bass
  • Pad
  • FM-Sound
Try it with any MID-SIDE module, like wrong LRMSMSLR - and you will get a really clean stereo signal! With LOW-CUT on the side signal --> make mono to e.g. to 100Hz.

Also great - use LOW-CUT to get a clean FX input and/or output signal.

Or try it with flip-sides or flip-sides active to switch between filter and unfiltered sounds - keep in mind: signal loss of the filter signal, may need another module to compensate that problem--> great for breaks :)

Give it a try on the WRONG LRMSMSLR mono/side signal together with flip-sides or flip-sides active and some signal gaining on passive filtered signals... also great for breaks.

Cause off circuit design, it´s possible to use up to 8 analog passive filters in your setup.

Chained inputs makes it really easy to find the fixed filter frequency you like for your sound design.

Module specs:
  • Width = 6HP
  • Depth = 27mm
  • Weight = 84g
No power supply needed - it's passive.

Comes with BEFACO Knurlies and 3mm thick aluminium front panel.
