Anyone who knows Steve Wishnevsky knows that this man is the Mahavishnu of custom made Bass guitars.
His work is definitely original, unique, innovative, a true work of art.
I own 4 of his basses & they are just precious.
With having said that, it brings me great pain that I must sell one of my most prized possessions that Steve made for me
due to being in between employment, water leaks, life.
My loss will be your gain.
I am the original owner of this Bass, It has been with me since I bought it almost 18 years ago.
I wanted a 3 octave - 36 fretted bass. I also didn't want a full 34" scale, so this is actually 26".
It's fretted to the 24th fret then, fretless for the rest. It's supposed to be tuned a certain way but, I went straight E A D G, 440.
If you know Steve's work, you will know that he doesn't give much time to finishing, sanding, staining, etc.
It's pretty raw, what you see is what you get.
Model #965
With having said that, the following photos which show imperfections were NOT MADE BY ME rather, IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY THAT WAY!!.
(Kind of weird, always wondered why make such a nice instrument then, just slap on a thin coat of finish, etc...)
There's some scratches than can easily be buffed out & there's a little area where the glue didn't take to the neck.
There's no problem in that area as there is NO TRUSS ROD, not need for 26" scale.
If you go to his website, you will see his prices start out low then depending on what you add on, the price goes up.
He usually concentrates on fretless models. FRETS COST MORE!!!
Apparently, he never soldered a ground to one of the pots, so it's held down with tape.
I could & would do it myself but I don't have a solder pen.
I put the heavy duty anchors on the neck as the E would pop off. Now, no problems.
No case.
Would prefer a local Tri-State area sale (NY-NJ-CT) I would deduct $50 since no shipping so it goes to gas & tolls
My Loss Is Your Gain.
