I am selling an American-made fine violin (Raphael le Cointe, New York, 1998). The violin bears the maker's label and is based on the "Ole Bull" Guarneri del Gesu (1744).
The maker, Raphael le Cointe, now lives in Cremona, Italy and has made several excellent instruments, including this one.
The violin features a two-piece maple back of medium curl, the ribs of faint curl, the scroll of faint curl, the spruce top of medium grain widening slightly at the flanks, the varnish of an orange color.
Length of Back: 351mm
Width of Lower Bout: 203mm
Width of Upper Bout: 168mm
The fingerboard was re-planed in 2016 and the violin received a new bridge and soundpost in 2017. This work was done by Lukas Wronsky in New York.
I am the original owner. I have all of the documentation showing authenticity and a recent appraisal (2017) verifying its provenance, value, and condition. Please contact me for additional information or photos and to schedule a trial.
