Hello low end lovers

For sale is a French style double bass bow, that is a bit of a mystery. Not certain who is the maker of this bow, but we have found a few identifying markings that may be clues. You can very faintly see 'L.A. Matthews' engraved in the stick, and also quite faint is a round logo with a Phoenix on the frog.

I used this bow from 1997-2003, and it has been sitting in the pocket of my bass case since then. It has a worn spot where your thumb would rest, and the wood of the frog also has some deterioration near the edges, and a small crack on the inside curve. It should be rehaired, simply due to age. Total length is 26", Hair is 20", weighs 136g.

I have no idea how old this bow is. I found very little info on Lincoln A Matthews, except that he was in fact a bassist, and opened a violin shop in LA in the 50's. I haven't been able to find any info on the Phoenix logo. My guess is the Phoenix logo indicates the maker of the bow, and L.A. Matthews indicates the shop which sold it.
