Extech Type 2 35 Decibel to 130 Decibel Digital Sound Level Meter

Whether you're monitoring workplace machinery, installing audio or alarm systems, or handling product noise certification and reduction, the Extech Digital Sound Level Meter gets the job done. This meter accurately monitors sound levels in a range from 35 to 130 decibels. It displays results on the large LCD display and has AC and DC analog outputs for use with chart recorders, dataloggers and other devices. The lightweight meter easily fits in your hand and can be used wherever you need it.


Features include two measuring ranges, fast/slow response, max hold with reset button, large 1/2” LCD display, built-in calibration check (94 dB), auxiliary DC/AC conditioned outputs of 10mV/dB, and a 0.49” condenser microphone. Accurate to 1.5 dB and also meets ANSI and IEC 651 Type 2 standards. ANSI Type 2 standards must be met for OSHA testing. Wind screen, hard vinyl case, and 9V battery included.

What is a Sound Level Meter?
Sound level meters are instruments designed to respond to noise much like the human ear. The measurements taken by sound level meters are compared to known standards to determine if the noise level could have a detrimental effect on human hearing.
