From the designers site:
Cubo 18 is a multi purpose, stand alone bass
bin that, like Cubo 15, will equal or out run a single 18" BR*, of
similar size, from ~ 40 Hz and up in terms of sensitivity. See the link @
This is a very compact and high output sub for live sound use. I have 4 of these. Price is for each although I'd prefer to move them all together.
They are loaded with 18Sound LW1400 drivers (the same drivers used in the high end EAW Sb1000 subs) They are a combination tapped horn and bandpass design but have fairly smooth response with a bit of a 60Hz bump comparable to a JBL SRX728. (see the attached chart and yellow line corresponding to the drivers in these boxes. The boxes are made of baltic birch and coated with Duratex. There are a few chips here and there but I have left over Duratex to touch them up. There is a standard 35mm pole socket on top. The drivers are rated at 1100W AES (no inflated music store specs, these are varsity pro level drivers) I've used these with a Crest Pro9200 which puts out 2200WPC at 4 ohms and just tickled the signal present lights at outdoor municipal events.
Even though they are compact at around 25" square, I'm getting tired of the lugging boxes and dealing with all the fuss of a 2 hour load out. So I'm getting out of the business.
Even though they were professionally designed these are still home brew boxes so it's not work shipping their bulk anywhere. The drivers cost $380 each so they're worth the firesale price just for the drivers alone.
