Early 1920s Ludwig Marching Bass Drum 14x28 in Blue and Gold Duco
This early 1920s bass drum is very clean; truly remarkable for its age. Wrap is in good condition. There are a few nicks and cracking that are shown in the photos, but overall it’s an absolute beauty. All original parts, including both heads on the drum.
Early 1920s stamped oval badge, also known as the “Courtesy Tazzie” badge. The badge is extremely clean and shines bright.
Hoops are in good condition with a gold sparkle inlay. There are more nicks and scratches on the hoops, but they have held their shape and fit the drum without any issues.
Ludwig & Ludwig Chicago single tension lugs. Lugs and tension rods show rust, however, are fully functional and relatively clean for being 100 years old.
Overall this drum is an impressive piece that looks and sounds huge. I’ve never seen a drum this clean that dates back this far in time.
