Here we have the Washburn Blue Dolphin built by the legendary Yuriy Shishkov.
Yuriy is one of the most talented master luthiers in the world. His pieces are among the greatest ever built. His Fender Pinecone Stratocaster is one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. I'm honored to offer this masterpiece to the world.
This is a one-of-a-kind archtop built in 1999 shortly before Yuriy began working for the Fender Custom Shop.
The guitar features top-notch flampled back and sides, a spruce top, ebony fretboard, and Madagascar rosewood/ebony pickguard and tailpiece. The headstock face is also Madagascar/ebony.
The f-holes as dolphins is brilliant, and is one of my favorite features here. The pickguard is also carved as a dolphin.
The inlays are amazing, as Yuriy's always are. His skill as an inlay artist is underappreciated only because his skill as a luthier overshadows it so much.
This guitar is as premium as an archtop can be.
The guitar is in excellent condition. It shows only a few very minor signs of age in the lacquer near the binding in a couple of spots, and a few light impressions in the finish. It still presents as well as new and looks as beautiful as ever!
Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
