About This Listing

This is a brand new,"Build To Order" hand-wired Hairball 1176 "FET Rack" Revision F compressor.   I usually have to build these units for you, but sometimes I have one is stock. Ask me.
It is based on the famed UREI 1176 compressor designed by Bill Putnam in 1967. Fantastic for getting vocals out in front, impactful drums and generally just good at making things sound good. I usually have one stock, but I may need 2-3 weeks maximum to build you one and have it in your hands. Just ask me. It can be quicker than that most of the time.

All soldering is done with WBT 4% Silver Solder. I also use locking nuts on the ground to the enclosure and all the high voltage parts, so nothing comes loose over time. On the 4-way switches and circuit board I use Blue Locktite on the mounting screws, so they are secure and can't come loose over time.
It is fully tested and meticulously calibrated (calibration photos included), according to Hairball's calibration process, accurate to nearly a thousandth of a volt.

Some specs:
Weight: 10.1 lbs
Width: 19" Height: 4" Depth: 10.5" (fits in a standard rack).
Attack Times: 20-800 microseconds
Release Times: 50 milliseconds - 1.1 seconds
Input and output transformers are Ed Anderson recreations of the Revision D transformers.
Authentic knobs, 4 way switches ("All buttons in" mode is possible by pressing all the ratio buttons in at once)
Power cable included.

OPTION (for +$100): I can install Multi-color LED VU meter - Choose any backlight color (select-able by RF remote control) - Switchable back to tradtional Incandescent backlight via front panel switch. Very cool and makes your unit a conversation piece.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
