Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...

A Very Cool and in excellent shape 2004 Jay Turser American English and Louise Harrison, (George Harrisons sister), signed Left Hand Viola Beatle Bass with an Epiphone Gigbag Case.

Pretty good story. My wife and I were at a Fund Raiser for Lutheran General Hospital in the Chicagoland area where we were living. We were having a great time dancing and listening to American English a Beatles Tribute band. They were awesome. When they took a break for the fund raising, Eric Michaels, the bass player, who is still with the band, got all caught up in the excitement and offered his Jay Turser bass he was playing for bidding. Could Lawman Mike let that one go by? No way! It was a fund raiser so I paid way too much for it but it was great fun. American English is one of the premier Beatle Tribute bands and still perform Internationally. Also, still based in Chicago!

The bass is signed by not only the original owner Eric Michaels the bass player playing Paul, but the other members of which “Ringo” is still with the awesome band as well. If that wasn’t enough… the band had George Harrison’s sister Louise Harrison visiting with them and came along to the Fund Raiser. Everyone was so excited to see and meet her. She is a lovely lady and not only graciously signed the bass but proceeded to tell me many stories about her beloved brother George. It was a night to remember!

If that wasn’t enough, it is also a really cool Bass Guitar. The Jay Tursers seem to get that Beatle sound sometimes even better than the Hofner reissues. I really like them. This bass was used Professionally by Eric but I don’t think for very long. The frets look in great shape. He put Flatwounds on it which still sound great. Added Grover Tuners, yes, one is upside down. I think he used 6 string tuners and didn’t have an extra to align correctly. Works as it should so I left it alone. Cool feature to talk about...Pickups sound fantastic …And…it weighs less than 6 lbs! No P Bass back pain wearing this cool bass all nite. Need that McCartney Beatle sound…Here you go. It’s a blast to play!

The signatures I assume are done with indelible ink. I didn’t try to check that. It is all set up as a left handed bass like Paul’s. Not a conversion. The controls are on the proper side for a lefty. No scratches or breaks to disclose. Cool bass.

The Epiphone Original gigbag case is as clean as the guitar. See pics.

I have hauled this bass around for over 16 years now. Time to let it go. I know I won’t get what I paid for it, but it was a fund raiser..right??

Sold as-is no returns but know that my customers love the guitars I sell. I have been hand picking my customers guitars for over 20 years now. This one will not be an exception.

Thanks for checking out our cool guitars.
