Peavey Classic 30 Lamar Sorrento ART AMP

This is a Used Peavey Classic 30 guitar amp. Probably Peaveys MOST POPULAR working mans amp. This particular one I acquired around 2005 give or take a year. I used it live a few times, as recently as 08-2019. But I don't take it out very often. This is loaded with an Eminence Canibus Rex 12" speaker, not original to the amp.

Now the ART. Lamar Sorrento is a self taught Southern Artists out of Memphis TN. I had the grace of meeting him through mutual friends back in the days I worked at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. Lamar knew a few guys there, and we met, I heard some of his MUSIC, and though after that meeting in 1994ish, I never saw him for quite a while, I much enjoyed the CD's of his I had, and at the time did not realize his artistic talents. A few years later, 1997ish, I was back in MS living in my small home town. I trekked along with wife to a song writers thingee in Memphis. I went to my venue to play my original music, and who did I stumble into but Lamar. I talked him into getting up with me and performing 2 or 3 Beatles songs. That probably did not help my 'original song writing score' which is what I was there for. But hey, I'll never forget that night. About the same time, I had decided to open Small Town Music, and did so in July of 1997. Several years passed, and I was looking on Ebay one day (I have been selling on Ebay & doing a little buying, since 99 I think) and I saw this amp in a Memphis music store for sale. I noted who the art work was by and decided this needed to be my amp. Well the rest is history, and since that time I have made a small mark with some gigs played on this particular amp, while LAMAR has made quite the mark with his unique and unusual SOUTHERN FOLK ROCK ART. That at least is what I feel like calling it. I don't have a strong desire to sale this, but the cruel world calls at times, and artist will tell you that as quick as anyone. There are many people who will consider this an amp worth 300 to 400 dollars. I am not one of those. Art is so subjective. But there are plenty of folks out there who are quite enamored with the work of Lamar SORRENTO, and I think justly so. This has a logo on the front, not Peavey, more "beatles" related, but I cannot tell you what that logo is for legal reasons. I took it off for the photos. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

That said, See photos and let me know if you got questions. Thanks. Frazier. Small town music.com
PS: If anyone out there actually reads this far, and knows where to get an after market tube guard like the one on this amp, please let me know. I have another classic 30 that needs a tube guard. Thanks. Frazier
