RARE 1964 Mosrite electric Mandolin
(octave guitar)/6 string Double Neck in its original CANDY APPLE RED
finish and original Vibramute tailpiece! Both necks play great with
frets that are in good condition. The mandolin neck has a cavity for a
truss rod, but never had one installed as it is a smaller neck without a
need for a truss rod. It's all original with the only exception being a
couple of ground wires, and two rewound pickups. It's also 100%
complete including its original hardshell case. This is a very rare
early model that does not have a serial number. It looks great with
nicks + dings, finish checking, and other cosmetic wear. Everything
remains structurally sound. Originally, only the bridge position pickup
on the 6 string side worked properly, but after the photos were taken,
we had the other two pickup rewound and now all three pickups work and
sound amazing. The two-way switch adds the signal of the upper mandolin
pickup when switched to the upper position, but the lower side pickups
remain active as well. The tuning keys work, but some don't operate
smoothly when tuning them down as they tend to jump down a notch, but
are still very useable.
