Here is a super rare bird!!
Up for sale is an ultra rare 1977 F30 rosewood sunburst with F50 appointments. It also has a bear claw sitka spruce top, and highly figured rosewood back and sides.
This model was made famous by Paul Simon, and is a popular small body size for players with bad shoulders, or who prefer the comfort of the f30 orchestra design.
There is no record of how many of these fancy F30s were made because they are serial numbered the same as the standard f30 mahogany models. If you do a google image search, you will only find one or two of these in a natural top that have come up for sale in the past few years. I daily guild guitar hunt online viewing hundreds of listings per day, and I have never seen another one exactly like mine. You wont find a sunburst one of these anywhere, and the bear claw makes it even more rare and desirable. If you know anything about this model please let me know, I am still learning new things about Guilds, and want my listings as accurate as possible.    This guitar is in good player condition with lots of cosmetic flaws. I recently had my luthier do some work on this guitar in order to improve play ability, and to get it ready to sale. The old truss rod was broken, so i had it replaced. This is not an easy fix, or a cheap job to have done. The entire fretboard has to be removed to install a new truss rod. I also was able to find a guild style brass truss rod cover that i have spent over a year looking for. It has the name Lloyd written on it. I believe these originally came with a brass/gold TRC, but i am not sure of that. I also had a new bone nut and saddle made. The saddle is at a good height now, and could be shaved down to lower the action if needed. There is no string buzz or muted notes, and it holds tune properly. The action is currently set up on the high side for those of you with a heavy attack when strumming. I am a finger style player, and if i were to keep the guitar, I would have the action lowered to compliment my style. The bridge is securely glued down with no lifting in the back. There were some pieces of head stock trim replaced. If you look in the pictures you can see that they are white compared to the original binding. It is not a perfect fit or match, but it looks better than missing trim in my opinion. There are ways to age the binding and stain it if you wanted to do so. The guitar has lots of dents, dings, scratches, weather checks, swirling, and pick ware through out the guitar. There is a long mark on the front of the guitar in the lower bout. I do not know if that was a crack repair or a bad scratch, but it is the most noticeable flaw. Certain parts of the binding has several cracks, peeling, and is discolored, but it is not coming unglued. The metal frets and the fret board are in great shape with little to no ware. The headstock faceplate shows signs of ware and has a dried out look to it, but with some conditioner applied a few times a year, it can maintain a dark black look, hiding most of the cosmetic flaws. The tuners work properly and have a heavy, patina look, and feel to them. The back of the neck shows heavy signs of wear, but for the most part, still has a smooth feel to it, and does not effect play ability. The back of the guitar has some of the nitro finish worn off near the waist line in the upper bout. On each side of the neck/body joint there is some nitro finish worn off, and appears to have had a neck reset in the past. The guitar comes with an older, black, Martin brand case, with a green liner inside. The latches are rusted, but work properly, as does the handle. The inner liner has some lower bout damage. I can send case pics upon request.    Overall, I would grade this guitar in good player condition. This is not a museum piece. This guitar has been played, and has lived a long, active life with the scars to prove it. The word Mojo is thrown around a lot with vintage instruments, but this one really has it. If you are looking for something different, that will stand out in a room full other other great guitars, then this is it. Anytime I have gotten the guitar out when hanging with other guitar players, it becomes the focal point of the entire room, and everyone of your friends will be asking to play it. I have no idea if another one of these will ever come up for sale, so if you have been waiting a long time for something really special to come up for sale, this could be the one you have waited for.     Please message me for additional pics and information if you are looking to buy or make me an offer. Enjoy the pictures, and check back with me soon to see what other guilds I have for sale. My current inventory is a F50 maple, F47 RW, DV6 Cedar, DV62, and a D55. Thanks for checking out my Guild Guitars. This guitar is listing in all the other major online marketplaces, so check with me before buying. I prefer paypal deals.  Also, please join my facebook group, Guild Acoustics, to connect with other Guild fans.
