Rare custom one-of-a-kind Matsuda Twist guitar
This guitar is one of the most radical and special acoustics we have ever come across.
Of course, Michi Matsuda is quite possibly the most creative acoustic guitar builder on earth. But he really outdid himself here...
This guitar has multiple ergonomic "twists"...
* For comfort of your forearm, the top is wedge-shaped -- shallower on the bass side than the treble side. Kind of like a Manzer wedge..
* Most interestingly, the fretboard actually twists too for ergonomics.... On your picking hand, the strings face slightly toward you. On your fretting hand, the strings face slightly away from you.
* Lastly, the fretboard is fanned... Both for tone and for comfort. It's a 26 1/8" on the bass side and 25 1/4" on the treble side.
German spruce top. Madagascar Rosewood back and sides. 1 3/4" Nut.
There was a small crack at the heel when we received it. We sent the guitar to Michi Matsuda to check out. He took the neck off and reinforced the area and put the neck back on. He says it is not an issue.
This guitar is a work of art, and quite possibly the most ergonomic traditional acoustic ever built.
You will likely never see another one like it, and this one may never come up for sale again. So act soon if you are interested...
