Here a very unique, lightweight and resonant Tele in mint condition! Stunning Fender Japan 62 reissue C-shape neck on a custom-order Japan-made flame maple top thinline body with sound chambers on both sides and classic 1969 design. Vintage style Alnico V pickups and 3-way wiring provides with an exquisite tonal palette. And the total weight thanks to the semi-hollow design is just 2,7 kg! Your back will be thankful!
Guitar has minimal wear, with just a few little scratches on the scratchplate. Fender Japan neck comes from a 62 vintage reissue model and is not too huge or too skinny - a true pleasure to play. Classic 7.25-inch fretboard radius makes bare-chrods so easy, vintage frets have no wear, Kluson tuners are stable and reliable. Rosewood fretboard has a very beautiful dark shade and texture.
As expected from a Thinline design the body is light (approx 1 kg lighter than a standard solid body Tele) and also very resonant and loud acoustically - perfect for unplugged noodling on the couch. Body has two elongated sound chambers on both sides and a solid alder block in the middle. Flame maple top is finished in gorgeous transparent Burgundy Mist, the back and sides have an orange shade, the binding is aged cream colour. After the photoshoot we've replaced the scratchplate screws with black ones to accent the colour even more and also added strap lock pins, that provide much better safety on stage.
Japan-made alnico V pickups produce a vintage-style palette, with a very balanced eq on both pickups. The neck is full and rich, the bridge is spanky and has plenty of bit (but not shirll like some Tele bridge pickus). The middle position is a gorgeous combination of both. Pickups have plenty of output to drive a tube amp into its sweet spot. USA-spec wiring consists of CTS USA A250K pots, CRL 3-way switch, Orange Drop 0.033uf capacitor and Electrosocket output, that is much more reliable than the classic Tele "cup" output, that always keeps falling out. There is also plenty of tonal variation on the Tone knob thanks to a high quality audio taper pot and the famous Orange Drop capacitor.
The bridge is a classic vintage Fender USA design, with a thick baseplate, strings-through-body anchoring and 3 saddles. Here we used brass saddles for a slightly warmer response. These also have compesated design, so the intonation is spot on.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, lemon oil rosewood treatment, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with Rotosound 10-46 Nickel-plated steel strings.
Please note that although we put our heart and soul and also all our knowledge into every single guitar we sell, a setup is a personal preference and we cannot give any guarantees. However, we try to get the best playability out of every guitar and set them up so you can play both rhythm and lead. We also pull them all apart to clean and check every single component and replace all unreliable parts with new ones, from dodgy pots to the whole wiring, tuners, string trees, nuts and etc. All the work done is described in detail in the listing.
We make sure that every guitar we sell is problem free and take full responsibility for the accuracy of our listing descriptions. All photographs are done by a professional photographer and processed on a calibrated monitor. Some colours might look slightly different on your monitor, but we will always put the official Fender colour name in the listing description, so please study pictures of other guitars with the same colour if you are unsure. We focus on finding great quality guitars and making them reliable and inspiring to play.
