For sale is a mid 1950's Bell and Howell military projector amplifier modified by Austen Hooks.
I bought the amplifier un-modified in 2012 from a Canadian dealer, and worked with Mr Hooks over the next several years on a series of modifications.
This was the first of his military amps in which the internal speaker was moved from the center of the amp to the back panel, allowing him to rebuild much of the circuitry without spatial confinements. This modification also created the signature 'glowing bulb' on the front of the amplifier.
The amp has a line out, a speaker out, and can also run a small internal speaker.
