About This Listing

*** Price Reduced!!! *** (12/29/14)

A real and beautiful Gibson Les Paul Standard Limited Edition.  #252 of 275 made in Manhattan Midnight Blue in 2004.  The stoutest and most solid electric guitar I've ever held.  With the fastest neck on an Ebony fretboard I've every played.

Specs:
Body: Solid mahogany body with bound AA flame maple top in Manhattan Midnight Blue finish. Stop-Bar Tailpiece, Gibson Tune-O-Matic bridge and skirted control knobs with silver inserts.
Neck: Slim 60s mahogany neck with bound Ebony fingerboard, pearloid trapezoid inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Gibson Deluxe Double Stripe nickel tuners, 24 ¾” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Gibson BurstBucker 1 & 2 humbuckers in the neck and bridge (respectively) with dual volume and tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.
2004 Gibson Les Paul Standard Limited Edition:   This guitar is of 275 made. The actual model name is Les Paul Standard Limited Edition and was originally introduced in batches of 275 per color. They featured Burstbucker #1 and #2 pickups, AA Flame Maple tops, Ebony fretboards, bound headstocks with crown inlays and "Les Paul" truss rod covers. The model was so successful that they were re-introduced as a regular production model but with white plastic (not cream) and rosewood boards in unlimited numbers and in different colors.  Nickle pickup covers & hardware.

I purchased this guitar off eBay from the original buyer/owner and comes with original hang-tags and all associated paperwork including owners manual (see pictures) I consider this axe to be in excellent condition and the AA flame top is spectacular.  The Ebony fretboard is as smooth as silk and as fast as any neck I've ever played and is as straight as any I've ever seen.  The guitar has never had any breaks or repairs of any kind.

The guitar does have some dings and marks on it from use & gigging.  I tried to highlight them the best I could in the digital pics but getting that close seemed to go beyond the capabilities of my digital camera.  The biggest being on the top of the body (as you hold it to play) and the paint is chipped off right down to the wood with a small crease line coming from the chip in the paint which is all in all smaller than a pencil eraser but with a crease coming out of it for no more than a quarter inch.  There are no cracks or serious damage of any kind anywhere on this guitar.  There are one or two other chips or dings, but are smaller or such as one on the headstock on a top corer on the back.  All other dings don't even nick the finish and there are probably less than 10 on the whole guitar and none are bad.  All are from normal use & circumstances.

The neck position tone knob has a small chip out of the top outer rim of the plastic above the foil top (all original) and in no way affects use and is hardly noticeable.  It is hard to feel even unless you're looking for it/aware of it.

None of the dings or nicks in this guitar came from me, it is in exactly the same exact condition it was when I purchased it last year and came from the original owner/buyer.  I've taken extremely good care of it during my tenure as this awesome guitar's owner.  It is a fantastic guitar and I wish I didn't need to sell it to recover from some of my guitar buying expenses.

I gigged with it approx. a dozen times through 2013 after I purchased it and have only played it a handful of times in 2014.  I have bought other guitars since, including a custom made guitar, and need to pay-off some of my debt by selling this fine Gibson USA Les Paul, otherwise I'd be keeping it.

This guitar plays like a dream and the AlNiCo-5 Burstbucker 1 & 2 are powerful and responsive.  This guitar has excellent tone and is capable of any genre or style of music and will not disappoint!

This guitar will come with it's original Gibson USA hardshell case w/apron (see pics)

I will entertain serious offers, but am not interested in any trades at this time due to my need to pay-off some bills.

I will ship only to the Contiguous United States.  I will make arrangements to ship to Canada and Alaska but will have to check actual shipping costs to see if there will be an extra charge/expense.  If the difference is minimal I'll eat the extra but if it's large I will request to be compensated for the extra charge. (I simply don't have enough experience shipping guitars to know for sure)

Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or requests for specific pictures I will do my best to accommodate all such requests.

I'd like to see this axe go to a good home!

All shipping costs will be paid by buyer and will include full insurance.  No exceptions.  I simply put a guesstimate of what I believe the shipping cost will be roughly included in shipping details.  I believe a shipping calculator to be inaccurate for that issue...

My scale is simply a drugstore quality digital personal weight scale for people. As accurate as that is likely to be, I got two readings from it.   Weighed with myself and then without guitar; the difference show the guitar to be exactly 10 pounds. Weighed without me; I was able to find a position for the guitar on the scale where the headstock was just barely off the floor, by itself it read 10.5 pounds. I suspect actual weight is somewhere in between 10 & 10.5 pounds - roughly 10.25 pounds I suspect and a minimum of 10 pounds...
