SEE IT ON YOUTUBE. Search Garrison String Bass Banjo. One of ten instruments I built around 2000. Much research went into design. It is "ported" meaning there is an inner chamber that helps to amplify the tone. It is a braced 26" bass drum shell with a cello peg on the end to lift it to playing height. Scale length is @36". It uses 1/2 size bass viol strings. It has 15 frets. It has good deep acoustic tone (video is on YouTube). Stays in tune well, bracing is the key there as well as the large bridge foot. Colorado Case (one of a kind) was $450 at the time it was made. Instrument has never been to a gig, never been sold, never played for a great amount of time. Neck unbolts (furniture hex-key bolts) for shipping. Go to YouTube under Garrison String Bass Banjo.
