String through holes are drilled.

Ferrule holes are drilled to 3/8” depth (3/8” diameter smooth ferrules required).
We can install the ferrules if you don't feel confident about installing them yourself.

Bridge mounting holes are marked to approximate 1/4” depth so that when you run your mounting screws in, you’ll be guaranteed a solid connection of bridge to body.

The groove between the neck and bridge pickup routes is the style that was used on T guitars from 1951-1969 to make running the wire from the neck pickup to the control cavity easier.

Wire channels are drilled.

Neck holes are marked, but not drilled completely through, just in case you have a neck that has its mounting holes located differently.

Story about the rescued wood:

Coop guitars is located in a small industrial park. Our immediate neighbor in the park is a company that specializes in tree care and tree removal.

A lot of the trees that our neighbors remove, come from residential properties. Because residential trees often have nails or other metal in their trunks, most saw mills will not accept those types of trees to turn into lumber. If a mill runs into metal while they are cutting logs, their operation can come to a halt until their equipment is repaired. It’s just not cost effective for them to deal with knotty pine because the cost of the finished material is too low to accept the risk of damaging their mill. These logs end up being dumped into land fills.

The idea of just throwing away these awesome knotty logs, just broke my heart, so I searched out a smaller scale mill that would be able to deal with the occasional nail or spike more effectively. They actually let me participate in the process, so that I can spec the cuts to maximize the knotty look that we want. We slab the logs into boards that are air dried for about a year and then kiln dried in order to get the moisture content to what we desire for building.

We call this group of bodies our Rescue Series because we are saving really great logs from being dumped.
